food was delicious and excellent staff. I got the grilled sushi platter. the eel ones were my favorite. the place feels like you're outside with stones on the floor and small hut type booths. very cozy and nice inside.meals ranged from 1500 to 4500+. and they had other options besides just sushi like grilled beef.the waiter could speak english very well which helped a lot. the sushi chef's at the bar spoke little english but were so polite and friendly. highly recommend a stop here. didn't even have to wait for a table right at dinner. seemed like a great local spot if you wish to avoid some tourists.

Do not go here if you are a foreigner. Even though multiple reviews said they weren’t welcoming to foreigners, we still went. It as nearly empty but they turned us away saying they were full. I can even speak Japanese but they seems to not want us there. Other better and more welcome sushi spots in Gion.

Very friendly service abef a bit messy. Our sushi order without wasabi comb with wasabi, we would have to order the same things twice, water did not comb to the table as usual at any restaurant etc. Sushi itself was very average.

Our experience of Wasabe was disappointing. The ambience is pleasant but the food is mediocre, especially in light of the prices. We paid around 10,000 yen (with drinks) for dinner and came away hungry. Also the service is not very attentive. Make sure you remind them otherwise you may have a long wait for your dishes.
